“I was paralyzed from the neck down.”

The life-changing power of The Gospel is real. In the midst of sickness, busyness, noise, hate, chaos or negative reports, God’s love still rings powerful and true. Yvrose’s story speaks to this:

God gave me a second chance at life. I was paralyzed from my neck down in 2010, but He put me back on my feet again. What a blessing! I’m a child of God and will do anything to serve His will. I still have some issues in my body but I have put my trust in God. My neurologist told me I have to take infusion for the rest of my life, yet I know I’m serving a great God. He has started my healing and He is going to finish it. I put my trust in him—I don’t believe that what my doctor said to me is the final word. I have Jesus Christ our Lord for my Savior. I don’t have any fear at all.

Fear strikes in myriad situations, but we are encouraged from 2 Timothy 1:7 "for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” When we hear things that rock our world or shake our faith, we can be sure that God loves us. “But how does that help me in my pain, disappointment or sorrow?” you may ask. When we feel pain at any level, our minds can immediately switch to worry mode, imagining the worst of things—rejection, poverty, loss, death, etc. We then jump into control mode to try to manipulate things. However, when we see and know the love God has for us, we can trust that “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). We can then pray, "All things may not happen the way I would plan them. All things do not make sense to me. But God loves me and I love Him back. His word is final, and I trust His ultimate plan and my part in it.”

Knowing we are loved can get us through anything. God loved us so much He gave His Son to die and pay for our unrighteousness. Trusting God and His love is not always the easiest thing to do, because we can’t always see Him working or feel Him loving. Yet the moment we mentally and emotionally surrender our problems, fears and concerns to Him, we will experience supernatural peace. We will experience a power over anything and everything that tries to push us to not trust Him. And, we will experience thoughts that are sound and rooted in God’s goodness toward us.

Let the Good News of Jesus impact you today. You are loved by a good God!
