JOHNSON & LYDIA ASARE | MARKAZ AL BISHARA (CENTER FOR GOOD NEWS)
Johnson and Lydia Asare minister through Markaz al Bishara in the city of Tamale in northern Ghana — an area that is more than 95% Muslim. Pastor Johnson uses “Business as Missions” as his model for furthering the Great Commission. He has started more than two dozen businesses that employ hundreds of Muslims and Christians. His aim is to not only make money to pour into Christ-centered ministry work, but to create a safe bridge of business relationships for the Muslims to eventually walk over to Christianity. Pastor Johnson has a wide network of village pastors he supports across three nations in Western Africa, hosts an annual pastors’ conference to encourage these tireless workers, and holds an annual kids camp which presents Christ to almost 500 children in a fun, live-in atmosphere each August. More than 200 children give their hearts to Jesus each year, and are then discipled by the village pastors.
